MEET THE OWNER
I coach owners, not just dogs — so the training keeps working long after our eight sessions are over.
My interest in dog training started after I came home from the military and moved back in with my parents for about a year. They had two dogs I liked walking — the problem was they’d practically pull my arm off. So I did what a lot of people do: I went online looking for an answer, started experimenting, saw the techniques actually work, and became fascinated by the process.
That curiosity kept growing. I trained both dogs for off-leash reliability, kept learning with my partially disabled Golden Retriever, and later adopted a high-energy Husky/Boxer mix who’d spent about a year struggling to get adopted. He pushed me much deeper — I invested in dog-training education, studied behavior and learning theory, took private lessons with an experienced trainer, and spent months gaining hands-on experience around private lessons and group classes.
Eventually friends and family kept telling me the same thing: you should teach people how to do this. And that part turned out to be what I enjoy most. I’m not here to become your dog’s trainer forever — you’re the one who lives with them every day. My job is to give you the game plan, explain why we’re doing it, demonstrate it, watch you practice, and help you improve. One of the best things a client can tell me is: “That finally makes sense.”
